The 2011 racing season promises to be one of the best yet. Many of the various competitions are publishing record numbers of competitors and national representation. Formula Student UK lists 31 different countries on its roster.
Global Formula Racing will compete at multiple venues with both a combustion vehicle and an electric vehicle. It is the first time that either Oregon State University or DHBW-Ravensburg have designed and manufactured an electric-powered car.
After receiving 28 first-place awards in 2010, including overall victories at Michigan, Austria and Italy, and a No. 1 World Ranking, the students are confident in the new designs and believe GFR 2011 has a strong chance to claim victory.
