Melk Day Three

2010-08-17 | Melk, Austria/Österreich | Michael Warmack

GLOBAL FORMULA RACING WINS FORMULA STUDENT AUSTRIA!!!

The last day of FSA involved both the autocross and endurance events. This is another deviation from normal SAE/FS event format by having these events on the same day rather than on back to back days. Autocross was driven by Bill Murray and Matthias Wölfl, who also drive the endurance later that day. Matthias drove the fast lap of 42.1 seconds but unfortunately collided with a cone after the finish line. The best adjusted lap was Bill's first with 43.7 sec. TU Munich drove the fastest time of 41.6 but hit two cones. The fastest adjusted time went to Darmstadt (again!) with 42.9 sec.

Endurance was a test of strategic racing. We didn't push the car as hard as we had in the past to help prevent any one of the systems stressing to the point of failure as they had in the past competitions. It definitely worked! We didn't have the fastest lap times, but by only hitting one cone for all 33 laps and having the best combustion fuel economy, we won endurance!

And, as I'm sure you have heard, we won! It was a great feeling after so much frustration at California, Silverstone, and Hockenheim.

Here is the summary of results:

Business: 1st

Cost: 1st

Design: 1st

Acceleration: 2nd

Skidpad: 2nd

Autocross: 4th

Endurance: 1st

Fuel Economy (Combustion): 5th including electrics (1st in combustion)

Also received the Engineering Excellence FISITA Award and walked away with 1500 Euro!

It was a great event and the favorite of many on the team. It felt a lot more personal and intimate when compared to the other events and was a lot of fun too! Cheer us on for the final event for the 2010 season in Varano de' Melegari at the Riccardo Paletti Circuit from 3 September through the 6th!

Go GFR! Go!

Melk Day Two

2010-08-14 | Melk, Austria/Österreich | Michael Warmack

Friday at Wachauring in Melk!

Today was an eventful day with acceration and skidpad occurring on the track as well as design finals inside the main tent. FSA is, again, special in its event structure by having the open times for skidpad and acceleration to occur at different times. At all of the previous competitions, they are held during the same time. Skidpad was first driven by Johnny Rebholz and he drove a best time of 5.272 seconds. Jeff Delany drove second and was able to improve the team’s time to 5.123. A great set of times and was good enough for second, only by a slim margin to TU Darmstadt’s (DART Racing) 5.120. Accelerlation was more eventful than what we were planning for. We were hoping to set a time as soon as possible (as well as the rest of the teams) because of the weather that we were watching come in. Only a few runs were completed before a downpour hit Wachauring and closed the track. As teams ran for cover, the judges decided to move the design finals forward from four in the afternoon to one. Finals went well and we were with TU Graz, UAS Graz, TU Freiberg, and ETH Zurich (an electric). We were definitely an unique vehicle there being the lightest and the only single cylinder. The rain eventually cleared up and allowed the teams to run acceleration. Simon Geiger ran a best time of 3.870 that held for a good portion of the day. Johnny Rebholz was set to run as the second driver but we passed due to an irregularity in the drive chain that we wanted to address. DART Racing again bested us with a 3.846 run, but we are still very happy with 2nd place with our ‘little’ 450 cc!

Saturday will host the autocross and endurance events at the Wachauring. Bill Murray and Matthias Wölfl will be piloting the car for both events. Wish us the best of luck! GFR’s number one goal: finish endurance!!!

Finish GFR! Finish!

Melk Day One

2010-08-12 | Melk, Austria/Österreich | Michael Warmack

Our first day at Melk!

Today was entirely static events and scrutineering for the team. All groups - design, cost, and business - all felt that they performed very well. Technical inspection was completed very quickly and was completed at each test’s first attempt. It was relieving to see the car perform as well as it did at this stage. One of the unique differences about Formula Student Austria is that the scrutineering officials come to you in the pits, and this was a welcome change from the stressful tech queue that we experienced in Germany last week.

Tomorrow brings Skid-Pad, Acceleration, and - as we recently found out - design finals. Design finals were not expected at this event as there are only thirty teams and it was not previously scheduled. The others that will also be in finals are TU Graz and Deggendorf, and we are looking forward to sharing more of our racing and vehicle knowledge with the judges. The team is currently in high spirits and enjoying the laid back environment at FSA, the wonderful sunny weather, and as well as the success that we’ve had today. It’s been a day where we accomplished everything that we needed to and look forward to do the same tomorrow.

Wish us the best of luck tomorrow! Go GFR! Go!

Hockenheim Day 5

2010-08-09 | Hockenheim | Andreas Ehrhart

This last day began really quiet. We just had to attand at the AUDI Lightweight Award. This is an award for the best lightweight concept of building a car. There were five judges coming to our pit at 11 o'clock for looking at our car. Unfortunetaly we couldn't win this award.

Afterwards we got the starting sequence of the Endurance. Because we had the second best time in Autocross, we had to start as second to last. So it was our turn at about 6pm.
Right after 6pm the race could start. The four best teams of Atuocross should start within one lap. It was Turin, Delft, Michigan and our car. This was also a challange between two single-cylinder and two four-cylinder engines. The first laps were pretty good for all of the cars. But Delft was able to be one second faster than the others in each lap. The first driver for the Global Formula Racing Team was Matthias Wölfl. He did a great job, but suddenly in the 10th lap, the engine was stopping to run. Later we found out that the brakes broke and so the Brake Over Travel Switch (Switch to kill the car, if there is a brake failure) was activated. Therefore we couldn't finish Endurance again. At the end we made it to place 19.
Later that evening, there was the award ceremony. Overall winner 2010 is Tu Delft. The Global Formula Racing Team was able to win the Design Finals the fourth time in a row.
At the end there was the MAHLE party with live music. This week the Global Formula Racing Teamm will attend at the Formula Student Austria in Melk.

Hockenheim Day 4

2010-08-08 | Hockenheim | Andreas Ehrhart

We had a pretty succesful day like yesterday. We went testing the car at about 9 o'clock, and found out that the car is running quite well.

Acceleration was the first morning event that we attempted. The best time at that point was from the Greenteam (e-car) from Stuttgart. They had a verz fast time of 3.97s. For combustion engines, the fastest time was 4.05 from TU Munich. The first driver for the Global FOrmula Racing Team was Andreas Fricker and had times of 4.28 and 4.22. Simon Geiger drove second and did a very good job with 4.13s and 4.08s runs. We were very happy with these times and we think that it will be good enough for third!
Immediatly after we went to the Skidpad. Jonathan Rebholz was our driver and posted a excellent time of 5.08. Unfortunatly, we don't have any results yet and we don't know how we placed. We`re hoping that we will be around tenth.
After a break, we went to the Autocross. Our first driver was Bill Murray and beat the best time so far by 0.1s. The time was 52.41s. Matthias Wölfl followed Bill on the second run. He also did a great job with a time of 52.54. We had the fastest time with both drivers up until the very end of the driving session when TU Delft ran a 52.3. This put us into second but we were still very happy with the result.
The final event of the day was Design Finals at 8pm. It took place in the FSG Forum and eight teams with ten teammembers each were allowed to participate. There were also forty judges who asked question about the cars. We finished this event with a good feeling and we are looking forward to the results.
Tommorrow there will be the Endurance Event, which we definitly want to finish this time.

Hockenheim Day 3

2010-08-07 | Hockenheim | Andreas Ehrhart

Today was a pretty successful and eventful day for the Global Formula Racing Team. First we had to get up early in the morning, because we had our Design Presentation at 9 o'clock. That means we had to get all of the important stuff packed and the racecar cleaned up.

The car was put up to the first floor above the pits into the Marquee with an elevator where about 20 teams had simultaniously their design presentation. After 35 minutes we could finish this with a good feeling and immediately afterwards we had the cost report at the same place. This one took also a little bit longer than half an hour and we got a good feedback from the two judges who were responsible for us. Unfortunetaly, we didn't get the results for that event yet.
Because we couldn't attend scrutineering yesterday, we went directly to the that afterwards. Luckily there was nobody in line so we could pass the technical inspection, tilt-test and noise-teas within a short time. Like in Silverstone we had a problem to pass brake-test, but not because of the brakes. We found out that there was a problem with the injector, which caused that the engine wasn't running smooth. After replacing the injector we were able to pass the brake-test.
Meanwhile, there was the business presentation. We also did a good at this event and in the end we made it to place 6.
Afterwards we made a short testing session for the drivers, so that they get used to the car. The car was running quiet good and the drivers said that it is a lot of fun to drive with it. Matthias and Bill showed the potential of our racecar.
One thing shouldn't miss at such a busy day, a photoshoot with a famous german racecar driver called Bernd Schneider (former DTM-driver and champion). He also sit into our car and gave us some hints what is made different in 'real' racecars. All in all, he liked our car.
After dinner, the day wasn't over yet. We had to go back to Marquee where the four best teams of the business presentation had to present their presentation again.
The last positiv news for the day was that we made it into design finals again. It will be tomorrow evening.
We are hoping that the weekend will be as good as today.

Hockenheim Day 2

2010-08-05 | Hockenheim | Andreas Ehrhart

This is the end of a quiet day. Like mentioned yesterday, GFR is one of the last teams in the line for scrutineering.

We weren't able to attend the scrutineering yet because the technical inspection of the other teams took a long time. Anyhow, there was an advantage for the team because of the huge amount of time we could throughly prepare ourselves for tomorrow`s static events.
Tomorrow at 9 o'clock we will have the design and cost presentaions. We will immediately go to scrutineering afterwards. We´re hoping to avoid more lost time and pass without any problems.
For those who can't come to Hockenheim this weekend, the organizers provide a live stream where you can watch all of the dynamic events and the award ceremony. It is available at http://formulastudent.tv/
This evening we will have a short team meeting to talk about all of the events we have tomorrow. It will be certainly be busy with inspection and the static events on the same day.

Hockenheim Day 1

2010-08-04 | Hockenheim | Andreas Ehrhart

Here we are again, Formula Stundent Germany 2010. After most of the teams arrived at the track and built up their campsite, we were allowed to go to the pit and unload the car.

This year there are about 90 teams with over 2000 students, with the result of less space for every team in the pits than last year.
At noon we got informed about our result at the registration quiz. This is for getting the sequence of the registration and the scrutineering. The faster you are, the earlier you can attend. Unfortunetaly, we just made it to the 72th place. So we just can go to the scrutineering at the earliest tommorrow evening.
This evening there was the Team Welcome, where the teams got a little overview of the weekend and the things that changed since 2009.

The Global Formula Racing Team is looking forward to the event and is hoping to do a good job.

Silverstone 2010 - Day 4

2010-07-19 | | Andreas Ehrhart

On this last day, there was the Endurance Event.

Unfortunetaly we did not do as well as we hoped.  Matthias and Bill were our endurance drivers.  Matthias went first.  He put down a great lap time around 58 seconds.  Unfortunately, after the first lap, the car started experiencing problems.  A cam shaft sensor was not being read properly.  The car began failing and died right before finishing its second lap.  The problem was the wire for the sensor--the connection was bad.  We are very sorry to see Formula Student Silverstone end like this.  Over all we made it to 16th place.

Luckily we will have a few weeks for testing the car and will see most of these teams again at Formula Student Germany.  Best of luck to all teams!

Global Formula Racing Team

Silverstone 2010 - Day 3

2010-07-17 | Silverstone | Andreas Ehrhart

This morning started off by successfully completing brake test. After scrubbing in new tires, we next went to the acceleration event.

This is about driver 75m as fast as possible.  The first driver was Andy Fricker who got very good times of 4.121 and 4.133.  Simon Geiger was the second driver.  He put down times of 4.136 and 4.166.  These times were good enough to land a 15th place finish in this event.  After acceleration, the car moved on to the skid pad event.  In skid pad, the driver basically drives a figure eight--two times around a small circular track in one direction and two times in the other direction, all in one run.  Andy succesfully completed two runs at 5.564 and 5.273.  Jonathan Rebholz was the second driver who finshed each of his runs with times of 5.193 and 5.195.  These times earned the team a 10th place finish in skid pad.

The last dyamic event of the day was autocross (known as 'sprint' here at Formula Student).  Bill Murray was the first to drive.  Both laps of 59.51 and 57.98 were the fastest of the day so far!  Matthias Woelfl was the second driver.  His first lap was a solid 58.5 and his second lap was a even faster 57.41.  Both drivers showed great skill and put down excellent times!  Matthias' time held as the fastest lap of the autocross event, earning the team a first place finish!

On the static event side, we found out in the early afternoon that the team placed 3rd in Business Presentation, 5th in Cost, and made it to Design finals.  Design finals were held after autocross, and the team was able to very succesfully demonstrate their knowledge of the car. The judges were very impressed, enough so to award GFR with first place for design!  After three competitions, GFR has been successful at winning the Desgin event each time!

Overall it was a really great day for the team!  We look forward to seeing how the Endurance event finishes tomorrow and the overall results!

Silverstone 2010 - Day 2

2010-07-16 | Silverstone | Andreas Ehrhart

New day, second round! Today there were the static events. As mentioned yesterday, this is the cost-report, the bussiness- and design-presentation. We were in a good mood and hoped for good results.

First of all, the bussiness-presentation took place, this presentation is for potential customers who should be convinced of the investigation into the project GFR. Since we already won this presentation at the last two events in Michigan and California we were confident of this challange.
Afterwards, there was the cost report. In this report, ever single part which is installed in the car has to be listed and the cost of production at a fictitious production of 1000 cars has to be calculated.
Subsequently, we had the design presentation, in which the race car is presented to the judges. If you can convince the judges of your race car, then you are allowed to take place in the design final, in which the judges want to know every single detail. For that, you need to know your car as good as possible.
Unfortunetaly, there are no results published so far. But at the moment, we are in a good mood and we should be very competitive.

After the theoretical part, all of the drivers had to show whether they could leave the car in 5 seconds. So they had to go to the judges, who stopped the time. As our drivers are really athletic, they had no problems to pass this test.

In the end we can look back on a very successful day, with a few small problems while brake-test.

Silverstone 2010 - Day 1

2010-07-15 | Silverstone | Andreas Ehrhart

This weekend it is time again! 120 racing teams will be at the international Formula Student competition at the Formula 1 circuit at Silverstone in order to compete with their self-built racing cars.

After a long and exhausting journey from Friedrichshafen, we arrived on Wednesday afternoon in Silverstone. In total, we are  25 students of the DHBW and five students from Oregon State University.

On Thursday the Formula Student competition started with the opening ceremony, in which known personalities such as the former Formula 1 driver David Coulthard, the technical director of Virgin Racing Nick Wirth, the team manager-director of Renault F1 Bob Bell and the race engineer Andrew Shovlin of Michael Schumacher at Mercedes GP participated and answered questions from the students.

Subsequently, the technical inspection of all cars began under the eyes of experienced judges - the race cars were checked for safety requirements and their conformity to technical regulations. The GFR was successful in the first attempt.

After this first success for the international cooperation, we have successfully completed the so-called tilt-table that lifts up the car on a slope of 60 °.With this test the sealing of the car is checked . Again, we could make it on the first try and could go on with the  sound test. We were able to beat the maximum volume of 110 dB at 106 dB.
Unfortunetaly, we could not complete to the brake test due to time.

Tomorrow there will be the static events such as Design Presentation, Cost Report and Business Presentation, where we expect good results. Once the static events are over, we will give the drivers the chance to train and feel comfortable with the car.

Greetings from England,

GFR10

Endurance finished!

2010-05-16 | Brooklyn, Michigan (USA) | Michael Johne

We finished endurance succesfully with very competitive lap times!

I could rewrite that, or I just can leave that as it its. That's the live annotations for the endurance from our famous commentator: Thanks, Belinda!

"So, here we are, one hour to race time, and we are in the design finals with TU Graz and Ecole de Technologie Superieur later this afternoon. The car is beautiful and seems to be running well. Of course, anything can happen in racing…as the moment that our muffler flew off at Hockenheim Ring last August.

1:00 p.m. Fifteen minutes to the second half of the endurance race. The order of the first five cars is GFR (yay, cheer, crowd goes wild), TU Graz, ETS, Uni Stuttgart, and U Maryland. They will then run through the top 30 cars, and then go to the last 30 cars; the middle cars ran first thing in the morning.

1:15 p.m. GFR is on the course. Matthias is driving and he looks great. First lap out of the box is 44.470, four seconds off the fastest time of the morning. He gets a lap to himself before they put Graz on the track. Their first lap is 46.3. ETS is on the track, the three teams in the design finals are on the track. Lap times: 45.5 for Graz, 45.something for ETS and 43.603 for Matthias. Stuttgart is on the track. Now Maryland is on the track with a big wing. Wind is up and down, tough conditions to race for the winged cars.

Stuttgart’s time is 43.792, less than a tenth of a second off of our fast time.  Maryland at 44.519. Stuttgart’s lap time of 43.470 is the new quick time.  ETS just got pulled over for Stuttgart to go by, and Matthias just flew by again.  Matthias just hit 42. 5 seconds. He is absolutely flying!!
U of Michigan just joined on the track. It’s almost time for our driver change.  Matthias just lapped ETS before the driver change. He drove like a dream.
Stuttgart, Graz and ETS are all in for the driver change.
Bill’s on the track. Bill’s time on first lap is 44.070. Michigan is at 44. 583. Stuttgart at 45.5911. Bill is really flying (quoting the announcer). Bill is on the 7th lap. Graz has 45.5.  Missouri Science & Tech is now on thee course—7 cars are on the course!  U. Mich is 1 lap from their driver change. Bill just took another lap in the low 44s. Bill and Matthias are generally getting the fastest times of the cars on the track. MUS&T just pulled 43.820. They have a wing, and their car looks fast.

Stuttgart just lapped Graz; we’re 3 laps from the end for GFR.
Maryland just got 42.966.
GFR is on lap 13, we’re all on pins and needles.
Bill just finished, we’re through the endurance race, and we have the fastest time in any lap. Wow, the team is so thrilled, we have our GFR chant down solid, and it’s so exciting. Stuttgart is at 43.4 and MD is at 43.0. Will anybody pass our time?
Stuttgart is on their 13th lap; Graz is done.  Oh no, Stuttgart just pulled off the track, less than ¾ from the end of their race. Missouri US&T got pulled off for instability of their wing. As I’ve written here before, anything happens in racing, and this endurance race kills some of the best cars.

Stuttgart’s chain broke, just like in Hockenheim 2 years ago. ETS didn’t come back out after the driver change because they couldn’t restart their cars. Anyone who thinks winning a Formula competition is easy just have never been here to see the top cars fail to complete endurance."

3:20 p.m. The team is in the white GFR shirts (white for design, black for competition) and in the design finals along with Graz and ETS.  They are loosening up, dancing around the pits and hoping that we have a chance to win. The awards ceremony at 8 will tell the story.

FSAE Michigan 2010: Day 3

2010-05-15 | Brooklyn, Michigan (USA) | Michael Johne

After average results in skidpad and acceleration, the orange GFR car finished 2nd in autocross, with a very small margin on first place!

The skidpad and acceleration runs on Friday morning delivered only average results, placing GFR on a 14th place in skidpad and 31th in acceleration. The acceleration run was slowed down by an overly aggressive traction control, which was tuned on a lower quality track.

But in the afternoon, the GFR 10 and its drivers showed the competitiveness of our entry! Bill already set some solid and safe laps, which already were good for Top 10 times. Then Matthias managed to set two very quick laps, with its second lap being only 0.22 s of the Stuttgart time.

This promises a very interesting endurance event on Saturday!

The results in detail:

  • Skidpad: 14th place with a time of 5.291s and 33.90 points (of 50)
  • Acceleration: 31th place with a time of 4.306 and 49.43 points (of 75)
  • Autocross: 2nd place with a time of 63.720s and 147.54 points (of 150)
At the award ceremony in the evening, besides the Business Presentation award we also received two awards for our body design and for our innovative global collaboration.

Tomorrow we will drive the endurance with both the Top 3 teams in design and the Top 3 autocross finishers on track. We should be on track at around 1pm local time (11am

Pacific time and 7pm CET). Right now first calculations show that a Top 5 result for us is possible, if everything continues to run smoothly. So cheer for our team.

More details and pictures will follow soon!

Go GFR go!

Results of Static Events

2010-05-14 | Brooklyn, Michigan (USA) | Michael Johne

The static events went really smooth for us, with a 1st place in the Business Presentation and a Top 3 result in the Design event.

In the meantime, the static results are available!

In the Business presentation, GFR reached its first combined team win! The cost result does not fit into the other results, but well, fast cars don't come for free. In design, we made it into the finals to compete with TU Graz and ETS Montréal on Saturday evening. The competition is going to be interesting until the last minute!

The results in detail:

  • Design: Top 3 placing with 110+ points (of 150), depending on the design finals
  • Business Presentation: 1st place with 75 points (of 75)
  • Cost: 79th place of 65,85 points (of 100)

FSAE Michigan 2010: Day 2

2010-05-13 | Brooklyn, Michigan (USA) | Michael Johne

The day of the static events is over! We got into the semifinals in the Design Presentation and a good feeling for both Cost and Business Presentation. Now we are waiting for the results.

The Design seminfinals already took place this evening, so currently we are waiting eagerly to see if we are in the finals on Saturday.
The feedback from the judges for the other static disciplines were also quite good.

The scrutineering of the car is now complete. Tilt and noise test were completed in the first run. In the brake test, we needed a second attempt, but now the car is approved for the dynamic events following tomorrow.

The team – as well as the car – is well prepared and looking forward to the dynamic days on Friday and Saturday!

Global Testing

2010-05-13 | Dallasport (Or, USA) and Neuhausen ob Eck (D) | Michael Johne

Today, the blue and white car made its first meters on track in Germany - whilst its orange twin is already on its successful mission at the FSAE competition in Michigan!

That's a first off - and a totally unique situation in the FSAE world!
While the first of the twin cars is already running for 3 weeks, the German team started up the GFR chassis 1 for the first time today.
Whilst the orange car just proves its competitiveness, the blue and white car is being made fit for a long European season at the airport in Neuhausen ob Eck.

GFR is also testing globally! This allows to transfer experience and knowledge quickly and get well tested and tuned vehicles early.

Look into our gallery and try if you can figure out the difference between the testing session - and it's not the mountains in the background... :-)

FSAE Michigan 2010: Day 1

2010-05-12 | Brooklyn, Michigan (USA) | Trevor Takaro

Hello from grey Brooklyn Michigan! Today was the first day of GFR’s first competition –the original FSAE in Detroit! We got through technical inspection smoothly as one of the first teams. The official weight of the orange car is 314lbs (143kg).

At 7:00 am we were at the gate, waiting in line for the 8:00 am opening. Those of us waiting in line with the trailer were pretty haggard from the 48 hour drive from Corvallis, but we were still able to register quickly and get 4th in line for technical inspection. Getting an early spot in tech inspection is really important for competition because it lets us concentrate on static events as well as the tilt, brake and noise tests tomorrow.
With 120 teams registered for the event, getting through tech early is going to let us relax and concentrate on the events in the coming three days.

After a smooth technical inspection, we went to the weigh station, and weighed in at 314 lbs (143 kg). This makes us one of the lightest cars at the event, and right around the weight of the OSU09 car. Pennsylvania State University seems to be the lightest car so far, weighing in at 291 lbs (133 kg). With still many cars to get through tech, it is certainly going to be an interesting competition.

Oh, and by the way, in our 48 hour drive from Corvallis, we managed to destroy both a tire and fender off the trailer.

Look into our gallery for the first pictures!

Packing up for Michigan 2010

2010-05-09 | Corvallis (USA) | Michael Johne

The time has come! After an intense week of final shakedown and testing of GFR10 chassis 2 (The orange car) we are packing the trailer for the last time to head to the 2010 FSAE Michigan competition. With 120 teams from around the world attending, the event promises to be very competitive.

The American team was joined by 7 students from Germany last week, who are going to attend the event together with the OSU students, forming a really global team.

Wednesday is the first day of the competition, with teams getting the cars through technical inspection.Thursday is the busiest of the competition, with the Presentation, Cost and Design events taking place.
Friday is the first day of dynamic events, with Acceleration, Skidpad and Autocross on track.
Saturday is the final deciding day of the event. The endurance event (40% of competition points) and the final round of Design take place.

Follow us here for news updates and pictures from the competition. Stay tuned and cheer on Formula Student’s only Global Formula Racing team!

German Rollout of the GFR10

2010-04-29 | Friedrichshafen (D) | Viola Benz

With the sun shining brightly and curious guests waiting for the revealing, the new racing car GFR10 was presented at the campus in Friedrichshafen.

Accompanied by "Rock you like a hurricane" by the Scorpions, the secret was disclosed: the German bolide is, unlike to the American, coloured in blue and white. This is the only difference to the American orange one which was introduced almost simultaneously in the USA.

After an exhausting preparation phase which consisted out of many night shifts, now the representatives of the single subteams could proudly present the characteristics of the new bolide.

Now we are looking forward to a successful testing phase where the potential of the GFR10 can be highlighted.

We want to again thank our sponsors and supporters. We are happy that we could experience this special moment with you.

US Rollout of GFR10

2010-04-27 | Corvallis (USA) | Michael Johne

After many long nights of hard work, we finally unveil the GFR10 cars! On Tuesday, the American side rolled out GFR10 Chassis 2.

The orange car will attend the FSAE events in Michigan and California. Only two days later, it will be joined by its blue and white twin in Germany.

Monocoque has arrived in Germany!

After working on our new Website the last couple of months, we're proud to show you our new site today.

Have fun reading all the content and viewing our pictures and videos as well.

As you've probably recognized the last days, there's not only a big change in the name of our team, but also something going on with our website. A new team is starting to make something great ..

Currently we are still working behind the scenes to bring you our completely redesigned and bilingual website as quickly as possible.  Unfortunately changing gears here is not as simple as a quick flick of the wrist. Our goal is to quickly provide sponsors and interested parties with an information platform, no matter whether you come from Germany, America or the rest of the world. We hope you are excited and having fun, and we look forward to welcoming you soon to our new website.
