Formula Student

The Formula Student challenge is a construction competition held by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Its purpose is to develop and support young engineers.

Since the beginning in 1979 the Formula Student competition has developed into an interational competition with participants from over 20 different countries of all continents. Up to 150 teams participate in the numerous racing events, being held at famous circuits (such as Silverstone or the Hockenheimring).
The growing popularity of the Fomula Student competition is also proved by the rapidly raising number of participants and the establishment of new events.

For the participating students the Formula Student competition is a unique chance to test their theoretical knowledge in a practical context. Moreover, they gain and develop soft skills such as efficient project organisation, team work and working under time pressure.

Due to the active colaboration with companies from various businesses (e.g. the automotive industry), the Fomula Student competition bears great opportunities for participants to get into contact with potential future employers. By the sponsoring companies the competition is considered as an ideal recruiting platform for young talents.
